Nicole Vales-Buckwald is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner with over 24 years pediatric experience and 19 years working as a pediatric primary care nurse practitioner. She received her undergraduate nursing degree from Clemson University, graduating Cum Laude, inducted into Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society, as well as Golden Key National Honors. Nicole’s passion for the care and development of children propelled her to pursue her Masters in Arts of Advanced Practice Pediatric Nursing from New York University.

Nicole has worked in primary care pediatrics providing care in various clinical sites, mainly with the underserved populations. Aside from providing comprehensive primary care, she was actively involved as a team member for the National Asthma Collaborative program. She was also the team leader for pediatric obesity prevention at Neighborhood Health Center and worked with community members and school based programs in Plainfield including high school wide sports physicals and writing healthcare articles for the school paper at Washington Elementary School. More recently, she worked for North Hudson Community Action Corporation, providing pediatric primary care in various clinical sites throughout Hudson, Essex, and Bergen counties.

Nicole is a single mom to two teenage girls and three dogs.
